Hear the voice, afar, is sounding! 
“Christ Is Near!” Oh hear it say.
“Make His way straight now before you, 
Cleanse your heart while it is day.”
“Hear the voice!” the prophet cries. 
“Christ is near, let us arise.”

See, the Lamb, so long expected, 
Comes with pardon from on high.
Let us hasten now to meet Him. 
Lift your voices, raise the cry.
“Christ is here! He comes today
Let us now prepare His way.”
